Bridge City Stained Glass ClassesTo potential students of stained glass- arthritis and carpal tunnel syndrome can hinder your enjoyment of the craft- also be aware of odors such as turpentine, soldering fumes and linseed oil which will be present in the studio. No open toed shoes are allowed in the studio- wear comfortable shoes as the majority of your time you will be standing
Beginner- Classes run for 8 weeks. Tuition: $350 includes use of shop tools and materials to complete a 20"X20" project panel of your choice. Learn the art of Stained Glass. This 8 week course will teach you the Tiffany copper foil technique. We offer step-by-step instruction on cutting glass, pattern preparation, glass selection, foiling, and soldering, to the final steps of completing your panel project. You decide what you would like to build and progress at your own pace. The studio is open on Saturdays from 9am to 5 pm. You can spend the whole day at the studio or an hour- these classes are around your schedule not ours. The beginning student receives copper foil, flux, solder, glass, a glass cutter, a soldering iron, glass pliers, cutting oil, safety glasses, flux, and a 4x4 table to work on. The studio provides the grinder. Classes can be financed over the 8 week period with a $75.00 deposit.
Intermediate-For these classes you already have the knowledge of the basic copper foiling technique and all the basic tools. The Intermediate table rent for 8 weeks is $75.00. You will work on projects of your choice using the copper foil technique. Supplies and materials are purchased from Bridge City Stained Glass as needed- (the glass grinder is available to the intermediate student) Instruction and help on the project of your choice is included in the table rent.
